Today we learned about probability in math class. We used the board game settlers of Katan to help us understand, and make the lesson more fun. So parents don't be afraid to ask your kids all about it, they should be able to explain this with the help of two dice or the game rock / paper/ scissors.

Ventures Crew makes the paper!!!
Well Check out today's paper people we made it in on page D5! Great job and hats off to the kids on the Snow Castle Tim Horton's. Excellent job and great team work!

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!
Well welcome to Blue Monday! I am sure with a little help form all of us we can help each other out and make it through the day ;)
There is a new tab on the Ventures Website it is the "DAILY JOURNAL" Tab. This is the daily journal that the student will fill out on a daily basis. We have moved to a electronic format, and all entries will be time stamped and sent directly to Mr Smith. During the rest of January will will work out any issues with it, and it will start as a mandatory process for February. So parents please take a look and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Tim Hortons comes to Central Middle School
Our class decided to take advantage of the warm weather and snow conditions it provided by construction g a snow castle style Tim Hortons! The boys did a great job, and had a ton of fun completing this task. Also a special thanks going out to Mrs. Harnum for dropping of hot chocolate and Tim bits to keep us going!

2013 here we come!!!
Good morning everybody,
We are up and back online, Sorry for the delay! The Ventures crew has had a great first week back, and the second looks better ;) We have been busy busy.
Parents a letter should have come home to you yesterday and given to you from your child. The last week we have been setting up to start a new reading and comprehension program called Raz Kids. We are up and running as of yesterday. It is a great program that will assist and help improve your child reading and comprehension. It is all done online and you as a parent can follow along and watch your child's progress. Also,because it is online you can also take part in the process itself and work with your child from home and read with them. This support is greatly appreciated and provides a great opportunity for everybody.
If you did not receive your letter please contact me here at the school, and I will make sure the information gets to you. Or you can follow the the tab to the website posted to the main page of the blog, click on the parent log-in at the top right and registrar that way. If you have any problems please let me know and I can help you out.
